Jaimie + Jake | Downtown Ballard + Salt & Straw + Ballard Locks Seattle, Washington
The title of this engagement session’s blog is literally just that. When I met up with Jaimie and Jake at their wedding consultation we discussed in detail how important it was for them to have photos they can relate to. Photos that showcased who they were in their own element.
When we were planning their session, they mentioned how fun it would be to do something in Ballard’s little downtown area as they spend a LOT of time roaming the streets, going to the market, getting ice cream, and hanging out at their favorite curiosity shop Ballyhoo, where they get a mystery box every week.
Fun. Relaxed. 90% prompt free. I was down. My goal was to just follow them around and take photos for a couple of hours. It was literally the most perfect idea and we had SO much fun.
We started some beers to get some liquid courage, and then shot around the Theatre. Ended up getting a couple mystery boxes at Ballyhoo’s and ended the downtown portion with some delicious ice cream at Salt and Straw. We rushed over to the Ballard Locks to grab some more scenic shots and ended with some dancing to their first dance song while the sun set.
It really was a relaxing evening, just hanging out and enjoying each other’s company. Their wedding will be AMAZING in November.
