The moment they told me they would be sharing their wedding day at The Manor House, I crossed my fingers they would choose me. It’s absolutely in my top 5 favorite wedding venues. It’s such a chic and timeless venue, with the water views and mouth watering catering. The little downtown right below the manor is PERFECT for all the guests who travel in for the weekend. Main downtown is only 15 minutes from the venue. It really is the perfect pnw destination location for a wedding.
Kelsey and Adam planned the most chic and elegant Seattle Courthouse elopement of all time. Everything about their elopement was perfectly details from the most INCREDIBLE Sarah Seven mini dress to her YSL clutch, Kelsey wanted to feel like an absolute queen. And she nailed it.
We started the day off at the Fairmont Olympic Hotel. If you haven’t heard of this hotel, it’s a must to check out. Their recent interior remodel is the most incredible design I’ve ever seen. Decked out in marble, moody velvet and a full 360 degree bar, it screams luxury.
This elegant Lakeside Country Club wedding in Houston, Texas was one to remember. I was supposed to shoot this sweet couple’s wedding last March and after three reschedules, we finally got to party! I had such an amazing time photographing this newly wedded couple and the love they share together.
I am so excited to share with you today this in-studio session with this sweet family of three! Don’t get me wrong, I love photographing outdoor sessions, too but with the unpredictable weather that we have here in Seattle, studio sessions are a nice way to escape that!
Nothing screams spring quite like a family session amongst cherry blossom trees! I loved capturing this sweet family of three and all of the curiosity and wonder that filled this sweet little guy’s eyes. As a wedding photographer. family sessions are something I have grown quite fond of and always feel honored capturing.
This was all at the beginning of the pandemic last year. They were supposed to have a big wedding at Roche Harbor but due to the state of the world- they had to completely cancel it. To make up for it, they will hopefully be having a reception in Paris one day (how cool is that?!) Although last year was rough and for many of us the pandemic brought so much hardship, a lot of goodness came out of it. I think it’s safe to say this gorgeous elopement wound up being a blessing in disguise for these two.
There are so many stages in life and when it comes to having and raising little ones, time moves by fast. I love being able to freeze some of those precious times in life for these families, it is such an honor and something that is so beautiful to me.
Katy and Eric had the most stunning traditional southern wedding in Texas with countless beautiful floral details. Every aspect of it was absolutely breathtaking. Unfortunately though, their wedding was not left untouched by COVID and after planning their big dream wedding celebration, they wound up postponing it for a few months and drastically reducing their guest list.
I don’t think that many people realize just how cool courthouse elopements can be! You can really make it your own and like I always say, elopements are amazing because they give off that intimate and cozy feeling. The bottom line being: courthouse weddings are so underrated!
Looking for the perfect wedding venue in downtown Seattle, Washington to have your wedding at? If so, you are in the right place! Hey there, my name is Caitlyn, I am a Seattle wedding photographer and for today’s post, I thought it would be fun to share some of my personal favorite venues.
With the presence of COVID, many shifts have had to be made across many different aspects of our lives. Weddings were not left untouched in the ever-changing atmosphere that was 2020. While many sacrifices have been made to preserve and protect the well-being of friends and family, in many ways, we can find beauty in some of these sacrifices.
Shifting to a smaller and more intimate wedding is one of those beauties.
Family sessions are becoming one of my favorite sessions to capture, especially in my client’s homes. I’ve found in home sessions, especially with young children, to be much more comfortable and lead to more playful and organic imagery. This session was a perfect example on letting go of the ideal and leaning into what is familiar.
